March 1st- #Worship #lent2015

During the season of Lent, I will be sharing a short post each day as part of the Lent-Photo-a-Day Journey, providing a sort of brief reflection and witness through the journey to and through the cross, to the tomb, and out into the world.

Some times, my hobby of playing piano becomes part of my job.
Some times, my hobby of playing piano becomes part of my job. But at the same time, it can also be a meaningful part of worshiping.

The word designated for March 1st was “Worship.”

As I have served as a worship coordinator and Interim Worship and Music Director in a couple different congregations, I think it is rather hard to narrow my choices down to one picture for today. But alas, I have gone back into the photo gallery to share this photo of Allison and I with you.

I have picked this photo because one of my great jobs in worship from time to time is being able to lead the music and singing. I enjoy this even more so when I get to help lead alongside my wife Allison. In this picture at right, we were caught in between contemplative evening prayer services, services especially designed for confirmation students about to be confirmed and their families called “Steps Along the Journey.”
